Nasir Gebelli (ناصر جبلی )

Nasir Gebelli was born in Iran and studied computer science in the United States. In 1980, he started Sirius Software, developing graphics techniques for the Apple II computer. He gained a reputation for producing memorable games at a rapid pace, including best-sellers Space Eggs and Gorgon.

In the early days of Square, Nasir met Hironobu Sakaguchi, a fan of his work. He was hired to program the games Rad Racer and 3-D WorldRunner as his first two projects. He worked alongside Sakaguchi, Nobuo Uematsu, and Yoshitaka Amano to create Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy III for the Famicom game system.

Nasir took a sebbatical following his trilogy of Final Fantasy titles, and returned to work as a programmer on Secret of Mana. Afterwards, he left Square to walk the earth, and was succeeded by Ken Narita. He was last seen at a get-together of Apple II software designers hosted by George Romero.
