Yoichi Wada is the current president of Square Co., Ltd, having ascended to his golden throne of console RPG supremacy after the great Square/Enix merger of 2003.

Since then he has ruled somewhat generously, introducing the concept of "polymorphism" into the Square Enix buisiness strategy. That is, to maximize profits, development has since focused on creating various cross-platform, cross-media titles designed around a single concept. Examples include the Fabula Nova Crystallis "series", Code Age, and the infamous Compilation of Final Fantasy VII.

In the recent months, Wada has stated that he wishes to take the company onto an online marketplace and train young developers using further remakes and ports of old games before they continue on to develop top-tier titles; both currently hot points of contention.

Square Enix Receives New North American CEO
As a part of its restructuring of the management chain, Square Enix has announced that European head John Yamamoto will be assuming the North American role from our very dear friend, sometimes polymorhpic madman, Yoichi Wada. Yamamoto, who was responsible for increasing the Square Enix PAL presence, will be retaining his current duties as European head, while former North American President Daishiro Okada will become chairman of the branch.
